SYFY network has not yet made a decision on whether or not one of their most popular shows will be renewed.

If it does come back the sci-fi series will likely be moved to another network or possibly for streaming.

Resident Alien just wrapped up Season 3 on SyFy last month.

However, it is unclear if the show will come back for another season.

The comedy-drama could move from SyFy to USA Network, if it gets a renewal, according to Deadline.

USA Network does not currently have any scripted original shows.

A source told the outlet that "a return to Syfy appears unlikely."

USA's Universal Content Productions division produces the comic book version by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, so that is the likely move.

Deadline also reported that if Resident Alien comes back for Season 4 it will suffer a major budget reduction of as much as $500,000 per episode.

Ad-supported cable networks are being impacted by "cord-cutting and overall decline in linear viewing."

'PLEASE RECONSIDER'

After this news was released on Tuesday, fans begged the network to save the show.

"@SYFY please reconsider and keep #ResidentAlien going," an X, formerly Twitter, user wrote.

"So, @SYFY is dumping the one and only series I watch on that network. Without #ResidentAlien. @SYFY might as well shut down. And how is moving to USA Network better?" said another.

"It makes me sad and nervous that both #ResidentAlien and #Chucky seem to be in trouble. I’m gonna need both of them renewed asap, plz," added a third.

"RENEW #ResidentAlien SEASON 4 NOW. @SYFY," begged another.

"Save #residentalien," another fan asked.

POSSIBLE STREAMER

The show wants to keep Resident Alien on an NBCU station, but if they can't, they are considering shopping it to a streaming platform.

Netflix would be the likely contender as the streamer dropped Seasons 1 and 2 on February 13, just one day before the Season 3 premiere.

However, Peacock, as part of NBCU, also houses the sci-fi show.

Resident Alien landed in Netflix's Top 10 English-language series for Season 1 after its first five weeks of release.

The series also landed on several must-watch lists and scored an average of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
