American Idol fans are talking about how they are convinced Katy is "so over" the season premiere episode.

Throughout the first episode, fans are thinking Katy appeared to be unimpressed with a lot of the action.
One fan took to X, formerly Twitter, to share: "Even in her first few solo interviews you can tell Katy is SO OVER doing this..."
A second agreed and said: "I think it's at this very moment that Katy decided this would be her last season..."
Yet a third defended Katy and posted: "Don’t get me wrong, I'm glad Katy is leaving American Idol but I'm gonna miss seeing her all the time."

A fourth fan added: "Katy pisses me off - like make it make sense. I’m so glad this is her last season."
OH MY MILEY
After Katy announced her departure, it wasn't long before ABC already started reportedly scouting for her replacement.
A consultant exclusively told The U.S. Sun: "They are looking at several options on how to replace Katy."
The source claimed: "Names like Jennifer Lopez and Shania Twain... are in the frame because they have worked on the show before and are 'safe' faces, but there is a push for Miley."

The insider believes Miley's wins at the Grammys and her history of bringing in big bucks for Disney are two driving factors of this push.
"Several producers feel she would be 'perfect' to judge the show and get headlines like Katy," the insider gushed.
The source justified: "She is a younger star with an audience that has grown up with her as Hannah Montana and is a celebrated pop star in her own right."
CAN'T BE TAMED
Reportedly, the American Idol judge position isn't a clean sweep for Miley.
The insider claimed: "There is 'casting drama' over Miley, not about her talent or career, but her ability to be controversial.
"Some senior figures at ABC have concerns about the risque and open nature of Miley saying or doing something which is not necessarily family-friendly.
"The production team is inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly, but Miley is very outspoken and always herself," the insider gushed.
"Of course, ABC sees itself as America's family network, so they would not want to bring division to the audience," the anonymous ABC consultant claimed.
ROAR-ING RETURN
The insider revealed a few American Idol team members are hoping Katy will revoke her decision to leave the show.
"While publicly Katy is saying she is leaving the show, there is nothing stopping her from changing her mind," the source claimed.
"The way it was so staged on ABC and Kimmel seemed to be part of a plan.
"What could be better than her doing the season and then deciding to carry on in some capacity - if the money deal is right?
"American Idol has not had this much coverage and chat in a long time," the insider concluded.
The U.S. Sun has reached out to American Idol representatives for comment.
GOT AWAY
On February 12, 2024, Katy announced she was leaving American Idol after seven seasons.
After Idol season 22, the Dark Horse singer plans to exit the show to focus on new music.
While discussing her decision on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Katy explained: "So I think this will probably be my last season for Idol.
"I love Idol so much. It’s connected me with the heart of America, but I need to feel that pulse of my own beat.
"I love the show so much but I wanna go and see the world and maybe bring new music."
She added: "Well, you know, this fall, this September, I’m going to be doing this huge music festival in Brazil called Rock in Rio. It’s really exciting.
"It’s a big deal for people all over the world, especially my Brazilian fans," Katy gushed.
