How do I drop a pin on Google Maps on an iPhone or Android phone?

Dropping a pin on Google Maps is the same no matter what device you use it on.

This includes iPhone, iPad and Android.

This is done by:

1. Opening the Google Maps app.
2. Finding the location where you want to drop the pin and zoom in so that you can see it clearly.
3. Tapping and hold the spot where you want the pin dropped until you see a pin appear under your finger.
4. You have successfully created a pin.

On mobile phones, such as iPhone or Android, you can use the search bar to drop pins.

The pinned locations can be saved as flagged or starred locations.

This allows you to find them again later.

It is important to note that there are some differences between the version of the app on iOS and Android.

When dropping the pin on your Android device, the panel that pops up will be smaller and not have as many options on it.

However, tapping on the panel will reveal all of the available options.

How to drop a pin on Google Maps on Desktop

Alternatively, you can drop a pin using Google Maps on desktop.

 To do so:

• Open Google Maps on your computer.
• Find the location you want to pin and zoom on it to see it clearly.
• Click the spot where you want the pin to drop and you should see a small grey pin appear and a small info box will appear at the bottom.
• You have successfully created a pin on a desktop.

You can save these pins and use them for another time when you want to visit this destination.

If you are going on holiday and want to visit a particular location, you can mark this on the app by using a pin.
