LEEDS has been named and shamed as the place with the worst average rider rating on Uber.

The city is joined by Bristol, Manchester, Oxford and Nottingham in the top five for bad passenger behaviour.

Rude riders in London unsurprisingly made the naughty list as well at number eight.

And Stoke, Leicester, Birmingham and Northampton don't fare much better.

The shock news comes as Uber allows users to find out the ugly truth behind their rating for the first time.

People can now see how many drivers gave them a stellar five star or whether they got any dreaded one stars.

Meanwhile, drivers have revealed what will affect your score, including rude or aggressive behaviour, eating in their car, and refusing to wear a seatbelt.

Asking to open the window for a smoke, playing loud music on your phone, and slamming the door are massive blunders to avoid as well.

Uber has also announced the places with the nicest passengers across the UK.

Belfast came out as the number one city for the highest average rider rating.

Brighton, Cambridge, Sheffield and Edinburgh also received glowing scores.

Liverpool, Glasgow, Cardiff, Hastings and Newcastle round off the top 10.

Zach Singleton, Privacy Product Manager at Uber, said: "We launched the Privacy Center, which features a ratings breakdown, to provide users with more transparency and easier access to their data.

"We hope that by giving users a peek into how their rating is calculated, we can help encourage positive experiences between riders and drivers on every trip."

Tinder has revived the classic 'blind date' experience with a virtual twist.

And TikTok has announced new rules, banning users who deadname or misgender others.
