Who is Donna Kelce?

Donna Kelce is best known for being the mother of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce.

She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, with her younger brother, Don, her father, and her stepmother Mary, whom her sons called Grandma Murr.

Back in the day, Donna was a successful track and field athlete and during an episode of her sons' podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, she revealed that it was her stepmom who encouraged her to compete.

Her father did not support women playing sports, however, Mary approved of her stepdaughter's athletic endeavors and she went on to win the Junior Olympics competition.

Donna was previously married to Travis and Jason's father, Ed Kelce, for almost 25 years.

The pair split after Travis and Jason graduated from the University of Cincinnati.

However, as Donna discussed on her sons' podcast, the proud parents are on good terms.

How does Donna Kelce support her sons' careers?

Donna is often seen supporting her boys in the stands.

Not only did Super Bowl LVII mark the first Super Bowl in history to feature two Black quarterbacks, but it was also the first time that siblings faced off against each other.

Donna became the first mother to have two sons play against each other on the big stage, according to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Prior to their big game face-off, Donna revealed to People that she wrote each of her sons a letter.

The mom-of-two told the publication that in the letters, she wanted "to tell them that my fingers are crossed for both of them, that I'm proud of them, and I hope their dreams come true."

Donna sported an equally supportive outfit to the Super Bowl.

Her shirt included both Chiefs and Eagles colors. Her right shoe showed an Eagles design, while her left showed support for the Chiefs.

While it was the first time that the Kelce brothers faced off against each other in the Super Bowl, it was not Donna's first experience with the big game.

She saw Jason win Super Bowl LII by upsetting the New England Patriots, and Travis win Super Bowl LIV by helping Patrick Mahomes defeat the San Francisco 49ers.

Travis also played in Super Bowl LV but lost to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On March 4, 2024, Jason announced that he was retiring from football to focus on being a dad, meaning that next season, Donna will be doing a lot less traveling, but her son is expected to be alongside her as they both support Travis and the Chiefs.

"It’s one of those things where obviously everybody saw me. I was in the box with her. It’s just another thing that’s amped up my life," she added.

Donna was able to come face to face with the pop icon thanks to her relationship with Travis.
