BASKETBALL fans have been left baffled by a new way to watch the NBA's summer league.

ESPN trialed a new camera angle during Monday's game between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Utah Jazz.

The contest at Salt Lake City's Delta Center went to overtime, with the Jazz prevailing 97-95.

But viewers on ESPN were left scratching their heads after the new broadcast cam was tested in the third quarter.

Viewers were given a wide shot of the entire court as the camera zoomed back during an offensive possession for the Jazz.

As the play progressed, the angle continued to move further away until almost the entire half-court was visible, viewing the action from side-on.

"This made me feel sick," claimed one fan on X in response to the footage.

"I do wonder since this is probably not produced by ESPN but more likely by the Jazz if they are testing a camera by wire for hockey," said another.

"Thought we were going to the roof," added a third,

"Absolutely nobody asked for this angle," claimed a fourth.

"I kind of dig it. It is easy to track all 10 players," countered a fifth.

On the court, Grizzlies rookie Zach Edey made his debut after being selected as the No. 9 overall pick in this year's Draft.

‘Summer league doesn’t matter,’ declares Undisputed star Rachel Nichols after Bronny James’ injury scare

The former Purdue star forced overtime with a dramatic tip-in after an intentionally missed free throw.

Edey, 22, finished the contest with a double-double.

He put up 14 points and 15 rebounds while shooting 7-of-12 from the field.

Over the weekend, all eyes were on Bronny James as the second-round pick made his Los Angeles Lakers bow on Saturday.

The 19-year-old suited up against the Sacramento Kings but went cold shooting as he racked up just 4 points in 22 minutes.

What the new TV deal means for the NBA?

By The U.S. Sun's Assistant Sports Editor Damian Burchardt.

THE new TV rights deal is promising to be a humongous win for NBA players.

The league is set to more than double the revenue coming from its media partners, pocketing about $6.9 billion per year, which will inevitably lead to a huge salary cap spike in 2025-26.

That is going to send the value of player contracts skyrocketing.

Projected figures suggest we might see the first $100 million-per-year deal being signed soon.

Currently, Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum is projected to earn the highest single-season salary in NBA history, collecting $71.5 million in 2029-30.

It does feel like basketball fans would be on the losing side of the fight if the NBA and TNT indeed parted ways, though.

Inside the NBA is a one-of-a-kind sports entertainment show, as evidenced by ESPN's ongoing failure to come up with its own version of the program in recent years.

The NBA won't be the same without Kenny and Ernie trying to make sense of Shaq and Chuck's never-ending bickering every Tuesday night.

James missed Sunday night's game with the Golden State Warriors due to a knee injury.

He will have to wait until the regular NBA season starts to potentially suit up alongside his dad LeBron, 39.

"The atmosphere was more than I expected," Bronny said following Saturday's game.

"It’s a big game for me, but I didn’t know the people of Golden State would come and rep for me, so that was pretty nice to see.

"I couldn’t get the 3-ball to fall, but all the reps it’s going to come more smooth."
