Khyree Jackson, 24, played college football for Alabama and Oregon and was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings for the NFL in 2024.

Jackson, from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, had previously been a starting cornerback at the University of Oregon before joining the Vikings.

He had played for the Alabama Crimson Tide but was cut by Nick Saban for undisclosed reasons.

He was drafted in the fourth round by the Vikings as the 108th overall pick.

During a two-year break from football he almost pursued a career playing the NBA 2K basketball video game.

Around 3 am Saturday morning, the three men were hit by Cori Clingman, a 23-year-old Maryland woman who was speeding as she changed lanes on northbound Route 4 in Prince George's County, Maryland State Police said.

Their motor was then forced off the road and hit multiple tree stumps, with Hazel dying at the scene.

The Charlotte Observer reported that alcohol might have been a factor in the crash and charges were pending.

Passengers in the Infiniti and the Impala emerged from the accident unharmed and with relatively little damage to their vehicles.

The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed that Clingman had previous charges for driving over the speed limit.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said in a statement: “I am absolutely crushed by this news.

“In our short time together, it was evident Khyree was going to develop into a tremendous professional football player, but what was more impressive was his desire to become the best person he could be for his family and those around him.”

Isaiah was described as having a great sense of humour and a better work ethic.
