‘Florida hits different’, Terrifying moment ‘dinosaur’ alligator chews giant fish just feet away from golfers on course

Fans are just as stunned as the golfers by scary scene

GOLFERS in Florida had the scariest of moments when a "dinosaur" type alligator was seen chewing a giant fish just feet away from where they were playing.

In a hugely unexpected moment during a regular round of golf, the alligator emerged from the pond with what appeared to be a huge catfish in its jaws.

There was a post from @NUCLRGOLF on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, that showed the unlikely scene.

"Florida golf just hits different," was the message posted alongside the video.

As you can imagine, fans were quick to have their say.

"Not only is the crocodile huge, what the hell fish is that in a golf pond!" one fan wrote.

"This is too dangerous," another fan said.

"You have your Protein bars and Gatorade, I have my Catfish and watch you putting for a 7, now move on," was another amusing comment.

"ol gator showing off his work for the day like 'yall impressed'," a fourth fan said.

"I’d let that beast play through," a fifth fan said.

"Not sure I could hold the camera straight taking a video of that," a sixth fan said.

Playing golf in Florida has always had its hazards.

Alligators have regularly been spotted on the course.

And in this technological age, they are often captured on video.

Golfers at Tara Golf and Country Club in Bradenton, Florida, saw an alligator emerge from the pond in front of them with a large fish in 2022.

It certainly gives players quite a tale to tell in the bar after their round.

It is well known that alligators are a common sight throughout the state.

Florida's warm climate and numerous water bodies create an ideal habitat for these reptiles.

Seeing them is even a popular attraction for locals and tourists, particularly in the Everglades.

It is however very unusual for alligators to attack humans.

Despite this, they are still best avoided, while golfing or doing anything else.

It was reported that an alligator bit off a fisherman's hand at a Florida golf course earlier this year.
