He told The Sun's Royal Exclusive show Harry "couldn't hide his fury" on the 2018 trip Down Under - but Meghan was all smiles.

Low said: "There are two things I remember, one from the Australian tour to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.

"When we went to Fiji, I believe it was, there was a welcome ceremony.

"If I am being honest, and I apologise to anyone from Fiji who's watching, it was quite long and boring.

"A day or two later we went to a different part of Fiji and there was another welcome ceremony.

"It involved them sitting on two thrones in front of an invited audience.

Royal expert Low added: "That was even longer, and even more boring.

"Harry was hacked off with the press. He was annoyed with us for some reason.

"There are many reasons why Harry might be annoyed with us.

"He spent the entire hour and a bit of this occasion just looking slightly over to one side where we were sitting.

"He was just staring daggers at us. He was furious. Harry has no filter, he couldn't hide his fury.

"Meghan was sitting bolt upright in her throne on stage and kept a perfect Hollywood smile on throughout, perfect posture throughout.

"It was an absolutely brilliant performance. I thought she is a real professional."

'VERY WEIRD'

Long-serving Times royal correspondent Low also joined the couple on their 2019 trip to South Africa - landing an interview with Meghan.

But he was baffled by the "very weird experience"

He said: "The other thing was the South Africa tour. They did an interesting thing.

"Every day they would give a little soundbite to the TV cameras so the media always had something interesting to report.

"What they had to say, what they were doing that day.

"We the newspapers - kind of the poor cousins in this arrangement - we weren't getting anything.

"We could feed off the crumbs from the TV appearance but we weren't getting our own little chat with Harry or Meghan."

Low added: "Towards the end of the tour it was agreed that Meghan would talk to the newspaper reporters.

"They insisted it had to be me because they weren't going to have any of the nasty tabloid people who Meghan as well as Harry absolutely hated.

"I was mooted to have this little two-minute chat with her. It was kind of fascinating.

"Only five, six hours later they released the bombshell statement where they said Meghan was suing the Mail on Sunday newspaper for what it published about her.

"Harry released a statement attacking the press, particularly the tabloid press."

MARK MY WORDS

Low said: "It made front pages everywhere. But you wouldn't have known that talking to Meghan.

"She smiled nicely, answered my questions. I knew Harry was in a bad mood that day so I kept it nice.

"But while talking to her I just got the impression that she was focusing on a point about twelve inches behind the back of my head.

"She was looking straight through me. Once it was over, she said bye and walked off.

"I bumped into her - she wouldn't have known who I was. I was just a nothing to her.

"It was a very weird experience. She was totally professional but no personal engagement whatsoever."
