The Aussie influencer’s death has been described as unexpected and sudden.

“This is a shock to us all, and her family and friends have requested privacy as they navigate their grief,” the statement read.

"We would ask that you respect their wishes - they appreciate all of your support but need time to heal in private."

The statement was accompanied by a picture that showed the influencer beaming.

There has been an outpouring of grief as thousands of fans expressed their sympathies and condolences.

"I'm genuinely so distraught by this news," one social media user said.

"I watched Alex for so many years, she began to feel like a friend."

"My heart is in my stomach, I'm so saddened by this news praying for her family," another said.

"This feels so unreal, seeing her grow and change over the past years," a third fan lamented.

Weeks before her death, she told her fans that she would be regularly streaming on Twitch three days a week.

And, she shared heartwarming snaps that showed herself holding her beloved parrot Archie.

Alexandra boasted more than 120,000 followers on Instagram.

She also had more than 690,000 subscribers on her YouTube account.

Her content ranged from product reviews and vlogs.

One vlog where Alexandra only ate food from 7-Eleven stores in Japan for a week racked up more than 4 million views.

Last year, she revealed that she had reached the milestone of uploading 1,000 posts on Instagram.
