RHONJ alum Lauren Manzo’s husband Vito Scalia files for divorce after 8 years of marriage and reveals reason for split
REAL Housewives of New Jersey alum Lauren Manzo’s husband Vito Scalia has filed for divorce after eight years of marriage, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.
Lauren, 35, has been seen posting without her wedding ring and has avoided addressing personal questions relating to her marriage.
Now, The U.S. Sun can exclusively report that the Real Housewives of New Jersey alum and her husband Vito, 37, have called it quits.
Court documents filed in New Jersey reveal Vito filed for divorce from his wife of eight years on September 5, 2023.
The businessman alleged the reason for their divorce in the docs.
"The parties have experienced irreconcilable differences for a period of at least six months which has caused the breakdown of their marriage and it is apparent that the marriage should be dissolved as there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation," he stated.

It appears the former couple still lives together in Wayne, New Jersey, given Vito includes their marital home that they purchased in 2016 as both of their addresses in the documents.
Lauren was served the divorce docs on September 29.
A few days later, her attorney informed the court that he is representing her in her divorce and is there to help with issues relating to the care, custody and support of the parties' child, and "all financial related issues, including, without limitation, alimony, equitable distribution, and counsel fees."
Lauren and Vito have one child together: daughter Marchesa "Markie" Scalia, who is now six years old.

What's interesting is that Vito filed the Marital Settlement Agreement on July 26, prior to filing for divorce.
The U.S. Sun has reached out to Vito and Lauren's attorneys for comment who did not immediately respond.
REAL LOVE STORY
Lauren and Vito began dating in 2009 after meeting through the TV personality's brother, Albie.
Four years later, the restaurant owner proposed to Lauren in November 2013. They then got married nearly two years later.
The Bravo star said at the time about her engagement: "I'm so incredibly happy!! I’m in shock.
"I’m so excited to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. Well he was my brothers’ best friend first, but I stole him!"
On July 18, 2015, the couple said their I do's at a church in New York City during a religious ceremony.
She was accompanied by her father, Albert, and mom, Caroline Manzo, who walked down the aisle with Lauren's siblings, Albie, 37, and Chris Manzo, 34.
Their reception was held at The Brownstone, the Manzo's banquet hall and catering facility, in Paterson, New Jersey.
Bravo stars in attendance reportedly included Melissa Gorga, Jacqueline Laurita, Dina Manzo, Kathy Wakile and Rosie Pierri.
Their wedding was part of the Housewives spinoff, Manzo'd with Children. The show was on air for three seasons from 2014 to 2016.
KEEPING IT PRIVATE
After letting cameras film her life for a few years - Lauren also appeared on RHONJ with her mother - she stopped doing reality TV and decided to keep her life more private.
Fans noticed that Lauren would stop posting photos with Vito and thought that they were over years ago.
In 2018, Vito shot down divorce rumors, saying that they were "perfect" at the time.
He wrote back to a fan on Facebook: "We just don’t put our relationship on social media and people can’t seem to understand that. We are perfect!"
In July 2023, Lauren fired back at another fan on Instagram after a fan questioned where Vito was.
She stated: "First of all, I truly give zero f**ks if you admire me or not. Secondly, I haven’t been on TV in 7 years. I am allowed to keep aspects of my life private especially after having a child.
"If you don’t like it, then stay away from my page. It’s very simple."
IN WITH THE NEW
Earlier this year, Lauren shocked fans by revealing she had lost 50 pounds. She shared before and after photos showing her drastic transformation.
The reality star spilled: "I got my lap band removed a few months before the 1st photo. It’s no secret I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life.
"Not long after that photo to the left I decided I needed to get healthy not just physically but mentally as well. I started to go to therapy, working out, started to see a functional medicine doctor."
She continued: "I have been gluten and dairy free for over a year... and it has changed my life majorly.
"I still have a long road ahead and want to lose more weight/get into better shape but I’m proud of how far I’ve come since that first photo in 2020."
In a new photo shared on her future sister-in-law Chelsea DeMonaco's story, Lauren appears to have lost even more weight.
She was seen wearing a stunning form-fitting black gown in a family photo with Chelsea, her parents, brothers and daughter.

The family is currently in Italy for Albie and Chelsea's wedding.
Although it is unclear if Vito traveled abroad with the family, he is noticeably absent from photos the Manzos shared on social media.
