Tate McRae is a multitalented artist from Canada who got her start as a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance

TATE McRae has been climbing the music industry with her killer dance moves and unique voice.

Fans of the 20-year-old artist want to know more about her new music and upcoming tour.

Who is Tate McRae?

Tate McRae is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and dancer.

She grew up in Calgary with her father, a lawyer, her mother, a dance coach, and her brother, Tucker.

Dancing from the early age of six, she attended Canada's prestigious Alberta Ballet and at the age of 11 won a silver medal at the 2015 Youth America Grand Prix.

At age 13, she auditioned for Season 13 of the US TV series So You Think You Can Dance with judges Paula Abdul, Nigel Lythgoe, and Jason Derulo.

After the show, Tate started a YouTube channel, Create With Tate, to showcase her dance skills, but ended up uploading a song onto her page four weeks in.

The song, One Day, has since accumulated over 40 million views.

However, You Broke Me First, was her first single to reach number one in America and the top three in the UK with nearly 900 million streams on Spotify.

The rising artist currently has over 53 million monthly listeners on the music streaming service.

McRae has kept her relationships and dating life relatively quiet, and out of the public eye.

On January 20, 2024, McRae was announced as one of the celebrity captains for the NHL All-Star Game.

She'll be on Team MacKinnon alongside co-captain Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon, with Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar serving as the team's assistant captain.

When did Tate McRae release her latest album?

On November 6, 2023, Tate took to Instagram to announce some music big news.

"My sophomore album. this album means sooo much to me and i can’t believe it’s so close to coming out," she wrote.

"Writing this whole thing was one of the most stressful, exciting, nerve racking, and fun things i’ve ever gone through. for the first time in my life i lived this year a little less with my head and a little more with my intuition - and i rlly hope u guys can feel that through the music.

She added: "through the biggest highs of my life to the lowest of lows - i feel so happy that it is now gonna be yours <3 here’s to 20 years old and figuring who the f**k i am haha."

Tate's album, THINK LATER, was released on December 8, 2023.

Tate has collaborated with quite a few rising stars such as herself in the past year.

She and Australian pop star, Troye Sivan, worked together on the single, You, which garnered nearly 180 million streams.

Tate and Khalid released their co-written summer bop, Working, in 2021 as well.

Other collaborations include, Boys Ain't S**t, with Saygrace and Audrey Mika and, u love u, with Blackbear.

Is Tate McRae going on tour?

To support the release of her sophomore album, Tate will be embarking on a world tour in 2024.

"I can’t believe this is happeninggg😭😭 cannot wait to see u guys!!!!!! <333333" she wrote on social media.

The tour is expected to begin with its European leg on April 17 in Ireland and run through May 22.

Tate will then hit North America with an opening show on July 5 in her hometown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

She will also visit cities including Los Angeles, Toronto, Nashville, Houston, Philadelphia, and more.
