11:57 a.m. An officer served a warrant to a man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2 p.m. An officer took a report for a suspected theft involving personal identity documents from a man at 1226 Montelores Ave.

Friday, May 17

8:49 a.m. An officer took a report for a stolen vehicle at 1320 Mesa Verde St. A 4C BOLO was issued to neighboring counties and states for the vehicle.

10:05 a.m. An officer arrested and served a warrant to a woman turning herself into the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:38 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at Pre-Owned Cars & Trucks, 401 W. Main St.

8:14 p.m. An officer took a report for a domestic dispute between siblings on Mesa Verde Street. A man reportedly was hit in the head with a glass platter and sustained injuries on his hand after his sister hit him with the butt on a pellet rifle. Investigating officers noted in their report that the sister was cooperative with them when she was located and that the man has a known history of mental illness and noted his mother stated her son was off his medication for several days after the theft of their vehicle. The report states that the mother attempted to discredit her daughter’s friend’s collaborating statement recounting the events and that the mother and son failed to mention the friend witnessing the event. The sister was cited with third-degree assault.

Saturday, May 18

12:18 a.m. An officer took a report for suspected menacing at Oaks Meadows Trailer Park, 405 W. Seventh St.

3:28 p.m. A man was cited with careless driving and failure to notify police of an accident when surveillance video confirmed his gooseneck trailer collided with an unattended vehicle as he was leaving Tire Max, 126 E. Main St.

Sunday, May 19

10:04 a.m. An officer took a report for vandalism at the Cortez Park Apartments, 23 W. Seventh St.

11:08 a.m. A man was cited for the keeping of a vicious animal after a report for a dog attack was made near the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

8:01 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, failure to use turn signals, vehicular eluding, reckless driving, careless driving, failed to yield right of way at stop sign, speeding 25 mph or more over the speed limit, obstructing a peace officer, open containers in a vehicle, and driving while under restraint or revoked near the Dolores State Bank, 744 E. Main St.

8:09 p.m. An officer took a report for a hit-and-run at the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St.

Monday, May 20

8:48 a.m. An officer took a report for a vehicle break-in at 831 Brookside Drive. A woman reported her purse was found empty on their front lawn and her son witnessed a woman leaving their property earlier that morning.

Tuesday, May 21

10:50 a.m. An officer took a report for a possible restraining order violation involving communication a woman received. The woman received responses from the Church of Christ, 631 E. Montezuma Ave., and the Church of Nazarene, 514 N. Chestnut St., who responded or reached out to the woman regarding messages that were submitted using her information.

1:20 p.m. An officer took a report for a pedestrian versus vehicle traffic accident near Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers, 221 E. Main St.

2:44 p.m. A woman was arrested on two warrants at 401 E. Arbecam Ave.

5:23 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault after the staff at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., reportedly observed her chasing a man around the library while hitting him in the back because she thought he took her phone that was left unattended charging.

6:06 p.m. A woman in the 700 block of E. Second St. was arrested on suspicion of a violating a protection order that states she shall not possess or consume alcoholic beverages or controlled substances and resisting arrest.

11:54 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle without a valid drivers license, failure to provide proof of insurance, DUI, and speeding in the 100 block of W. Main St.

Wednesday, May 22

10:14 p.m. A man was cited with two counts of disorderly conduct, harassment, resisting arrest, bias motivated crime and third-degree trespass after a report was made of an active assault at Mountain Annie’s Dispensary, 310 E. Main St., the man was arrested at the Handy Mart, 806 S. Broadway.

11:05 a.m. A man was arrested on two warrants in the 900 block of E. Seventh St.

2 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a no-contact, no-exceptions protection order at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

6:48 p.m. An officer arrested and served a warrant to a woman who turned herself into the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:04 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing at the Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St.

Friday, May 24

2:32 a.m. A man was arrested on three warrants after a report of a disturbance was made in the 200 block of S. Harrison St.

5:28 p.m. An officer arrested and served a failure to appear warrant to a woman turning herself into the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

7:45 p.m. A one-armed man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

9:58 p.m. A woman was cited in the 200 block of S. Mildred Road with driving a defective vehicle, displaying expired registration, driving a vehicle without a valid driver’s license, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Saturday, May 25

8:45 a.m. An officer took a report for a damaged mailbox at 1430 E. Montezuma Ave.

8:47 a.m. An officer took a report for a domestic dispute involving damages to a vehicle that was parked at Burger King, 520 W. Main St.

2:48 p.m. A man was cited with shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

4:19 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of open container and resisting arrest/interfering with an officer in the 30 block of N. Madison St.

6:50 p.m. An officer took a report of a burglary at First Street Car Wash, 21 S. Harrison St.
