England will hope that Jude Bellingham’s moment of magic can be the turning point in their Euro 2024 campaign as they prepare to face Switzerland in their quarter-final clash today.

The Netherlands and Turkey meet at Berlin’s Olympiastadion tonight – in the last quarter-final fixture.

Meanwhile, Spain kept themselves on course to win a fourth European Championship as Mikel Merino’s 119th-minute goal sent them into the semi-finals and eliminated hosts Germany.

France beat Portugal 5-3 in a penalty shoot-out to reach the semi-finals to end Cristiano Ronaldo’s bid to win the title in his last appearance at the tournament.

July 6, England vs Switzerland 5pm, BBC

It will be close and it will not be beautiful, but England should get over the line. Morale is high after the dramatic victory against Slovakia, the players are starting to gel and it might just all come together.

England will need to start with more of an attacking emphasis than we have seen so far. Kyle Walker’s pace and John Stones’s reading of the game at the back will remove the threat of Breel Embolo on the counter-attack. Ruben Vargas could pose a threat but if Declan Rice and Kobbie Mainoo can shut him out of the game, England will surprise many.

Prediction: England 2 Switzerland 0

July 6, Netherlands vs Turkey (8pm) – ITV

There is just something about them... The spirit of 2002 and 2008 is well and truly alive in the next generation of Turkish football. Arda Guler has established himself as a real threat rather than a raw prospect.

Expect Turkey to come out of the blocks flying and take an early lead before the Oranje equalise and push forward in search of a winner, giving the Turkish attack time to strike on the counter.

Prediction: Netherlands 1 Turkey 3

How to watch Euro 2024 on TV

The BBC and ITV/STV are sharing broadcast rights for the European Championship in the United Kingdom.

The BBC showed England’s opening win against Serbia and broadcast their draw with Denmark after ITV banked on Gareth Southgate’s men reaching at least the semi-finals.

ITV picked England’s final Group C game against Slovenia, plus the last-16 fixture against Slovakia and any semi-final.

The BBC will show the England quarter-final, with both channels – as always – sharing the final.

How many subs are allowed at Euro 2024?

As was the case for Euro 2020, each side can make five substitutes per match, with each team allowed a maximum of three stoppages to make their changes during the game (excluding half-time and other match delays).

An update on the last tournament is that managers can make a sixth change if a knockout match goes to extra-time.
