The first extremely stunning look at Disney's live-action The Little Mermaid has arrived!

In the brief teaser clip, which premiered on Friday at Disney's D23 Expo, we finally get to see Halle Bailey as Ariel. Opening with an under the sea shot, the trailer quickly takes us deeper into the water, panning across various underwater life as the first notes of “Part of Your World” begin to play.

After a brief fade to black, the trailer opens on Ariel seated at the bottom of the ocean, looking wistfully towards the surface. She sings just a brief snippet of “Part of Your World,” before the camera pans out, giving us a complete look at Halle in her Little Mermaid costume.

You'll have to wait until May 26, 2023 to see the film for yourself, but the beautiful sneak peek might be just enough to hold you over. Naturally, many on social media were celebrating the trailer's debut, including Halle's sister Chlöe Bailey

Shortly after the trailer dropped, she tweeted, “That’s my mfn sister. YUP.” She also shared the trailer on her Instagram Story, writing, “I am beyond proud to be your sister. The world gets to see what I've always seen since we were little girls. My Ariel.”

Halle shared the trailer on her own Instagram, writing, “Can’t believe it’s happening." The Instagram video received supportive comments from celebs like Hayley Kiyoko, Keke Palmer, and Storm Reid.

Other actors joining Halle in the film include Jonah Hauer-King (Price Eric), Melissa McCarthy (Ursula), and Javier Bardem (King Triton). Appearing on Watch What Lives Happens in June, Melissa teased that Halle's Ariel portrayal will leave you feeling all of the feels. “That girl has got roots down and she sings from her heart,” she said “When I heard [her singing the song], there were like seven of us that just burst out crying.”
