It really is goodbye.

Girl Meets World has been playing with our hearts ever since the series announced that it would be coming to an end earlier this year. The months that followed were basically an emotional rollercoaster for both the cast and the fans, with hopes rising and falling at a steady pace. Shortly after the show's cancellation was announced, series creator Michael Jacobs explained that the team was considering bringing Girl Meets World to a different network, which would allow it to continue. And Sabrina Carpenter even said that there was a chance for a revival, so we all had our fingers crossed that this wasn't truly goodbye.

But now, according to a tweet from the Girl Meets World writers, it seems as though those hopes have been dashed forever. The Twitter account associated with the series' writing team posted a soul-crushing message yesterday: "I wasn't able to find a new venue for the show. I'm sorry. We brought our best and hope we made you think and feel. Until next time. Thanks."

Ugh, just rip my heart out and stomp on it. At least we still have three seasons to binge-watch on Netflix.
