Amazon Prime Day Apple Watch deals 2024: the best deals live now

The Amazon Prime Day Apple Watch deals are here. Even though the Amazon Prime Day sales event doesn't officially kick off until midnight, July 16, we're already seeing Apple Watch deals crop up. 

Given the smartwatches are regularly on sale at the retailer, we're confident that there will be some big discounts on offer on older watches, with smaller discounts available on more modern ones. Amazon Prime Day always brings big price cuts on the best Apple Watch models. We expect this year's sale will feature some lowest-ever prices for the Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2, and the budget-friendly Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen).

Perhaps the best Apple Watch for most people, in its smaller Bluetooth-only 40mm size, is now down 24% at Amazon in its Starlight colorway. If you're an Apple user with smaller wrists, this is the best of the very early deals.

Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen (44mm): was $279 now $239 at Amazon
The 44mm model is better for larger wrists. While this is still Bluetooth-only, a 21% discount certainly isn't to be sniffed at when it comes to Apple products, which aren't often this significantly discounted.

Despite being released all the way back in 2021, the Apple Watch 6 remains a solid choice for a smartwatch. While it doesn't pack features found in advanced models such as the Apple Watch Ultra, we still find its sleep tracking and always-on display pleasing. And for a huge 64% saving, this smartwatch will cover all the basics you need.

Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen (40mm): was £219 now £208 at Amazon
It's not as good a discount as the Apple Watch SE deal in the US, but the SE (2nd Gen) is currently down slightly at 5%. Small discounts seem to be a common theme across the board here, rather than big flash sales.

Save £10 on the 44mm model, ideal for larger wrists. It's still got all the great SE features at excellent value, but you do pay more for the increased screen real estate.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2024?

Amazon Prime Day will take place on July 16 through 17, starting at midnight on Tuesday. While the retailer held the sale earlier in July in years past, this year's date has been pushed back to later in the month for reasons unknown.

Offers are available right now, and I'll update this page with early Apple Watch deals as soon as they become available.

What kind of Prime Day Apple Watch deals do we expect?

So, what Apple Watch Prime Day deals are we seeing at this year's sale? While the Series 8 was the focus of last year's sale, this year, we're keep an eye out for the Apple Watch Series 9, which was released in September of last year. We've already seen impressive discounts on the Series 9 smartwatch, and we expect a return to the record-low price of $299 / £329 we've seen this past month at the retailer.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 was also released alongside the Series 9, and while pricey, $799 / £799, we're hoping Prime Day could finally bring the price of the high-end smartwatch below $700 / £700.

If you're looking for a budget smartwatch, the best-selling 2nd generation Apple Watch SE is a fantastic choice, priced at just $249 / £219, but regularly on sale for $189 / £199.

Keep in mind that Prime Day Apple deals are some of the most popular offers, so you'll have to act fast if you see a price you like.

Should I buy a renewed Apple Watch?

Often, you'll see a deal marked "renewed" on an older Apple Watch. This is a second hand Apple Watch that's been checked by the Amazon seller (often Amazon Renewed, its in-house second-hand electronics store). It's a great way to get an Apple Watch at a discounted price, as well as contributing to reduced e-waste. 

However, be wary of third-party sellers you haven't heard of, as we can't speak for the quality of the renewal or checking processes. Amazon Renewed comes with a one-year guarantee, so buying products from there comes with a degree of security. We'll occasionally recommend renewed deals, they sell out quickly based on availability. So be quick!

Do you need a membership to shop Prime Day Apple Watch deals?

Prime Day Apple Watch deals do require an Amazon Prime membership; however, the good news is if you aren't already a member, Amazon offers a free 30-day trial in the run-up to its sales event. That means you'll be able to sample the delights of Amazon Prime and make the most of these excellent offers without having to pay for a subscription.

We expect other retailers like Walmart and Best Buy in the US to launch competing sales during Amazon Prime Day, and you will not need a membership to shop for Apple Watch deals.
