Syracuse, N.Y. -- Jasmyn Cooper, a four-star recruit who is ranked among the 60 best prospects in the country in the Class of 2025, announced on Sunday that she has committed to the Syracuse women’s basketball team.

Cooper is ranked by ESPN the No. 54 prospect in her class.

If Cooper follows through with her verbal commitment and attends Syracuse, she will be the highest-ranked recruit to come to Syracuse since Felisha Legette-Jack took over the team in 2022. Verbal commitments are not binding until after a player has signed a National Letter of Intent.

The team’s top recruit in 2023 was Alyssa Latham (No. 71) and its highest-ranked prospect in 2024 was Keira Scott (No. 85). Cooper is listed by ESPN as a 6-foot-1 wing.

The last time that Syracuse brought in a recruit with a higher national ranking than Cooper was its Class of 2020, when former head coach Quentin Hillsman brought in Top 10 national prospects Kamilla Cardoso (No. 5) and Priscilla Williams (No. 9).

Cooper plays high school basketball at Noble & Greenough, a boarding school in Dedham, Massachusetts, where she has helped the team win multiple titles in the prestigious NEPSAC league. Last year, the roster featured six players with Division I offers.

She plays AAU basketball for the MCW Starz, the AAU program founded by former Syracuse guard Michael Carter-Williams.
