3 accused of stealing U.S. military equipment from CNY bases, selling it on Facebook: Three people have been charged with stealing equipment from three Central NY military bases and selling it on Facebook marketplace, troopers said Monday. The equipment was shipped to at least five states, troopers said, and one ballistic vest was being reshipped to Russia.

U.S. trains world’s young entrepreneurs, then pushes startups overseas. NY has an idea: Yuanchu “Andrew” Liu came to America to study and build his own business. But when he graduated from Syracuse University in 2015, the budding entrepreneur was left with few options other than to return to China. Today, Liu runs a growing business in China’s Hebei province. “That company should have been here,” said James Shomar, Liu’s former professor. It’s not because of an antiquated federal immigration policy that tends to keep entrepreneurs out of the country.

Auditor concerned about city’s higher debt repayment costs: Syracuse City Auditor Alexander Marion is warning city officials to be cautious when it comes to borrowing more money, citing a big increase in how much taxpayers spend to pay back municipal debt.
