Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse.com’s high school sports Mount Rushmore project is back.
Each year, we select high schools to be featured as part of the project. The project highlights the top four male and top four female athletes of all time at select high schools throughout Section III.
This summer, we will feature Baldwinsville, Hamilton, Henninger, Tully, Utica Proctor and Westhill.
But first, we want your input.
Please fill out the survey with nominations from only the schools listed. Please include the athlete’s name, the school they attended, the sports they played, the years they played (approximately) and any stats or information for the athlete(s) you nominate.
You can nominate as many athletes as you’d like but please submit one athlete per survey.
No athletes currently competing in high school or collegiately will be included on a school’s Mount Rushmore.
Please submit all nominations by Monday, July 15.
After receiving your nominations, we’ll talk to local experts and compile a list of 10-15 finalists. Then you’ll vote to help us choose the final four.
The final Mount Rushmore for each school will be revealed one by one between July 29 and Aug. 6.
Note: Each school’s Mount Rushmore will include only athletes, not coaches. Also, if schools were combined we will only inlcude athletes who attended the actual school, other schools may be revisited later. (Example: Utica Proctor nominees must have attended Utica Proctor; Utica Free Academy and John F. Kennedy High School athletes are not included in this round of nominations.)
