‘Gladiator 2′ trailer

Are you not entertained? Ridley Scott has released the first trailer for “Gladiator II,” a sequel to his Oscar-winning 2000 film. The new movie, set 25-30 years after the original, features Paul Mescal as Lucius Verus, Denzel Washington as Macrinus, and returning cast member Connie Nielsen as Roman Empress Lucilla, plus Joseph Quinn (”Stranger Things”) and Pedro Pascal (”The Mandalorian”). There’s no Russell Crowe or Joaquin Phoenix, but there appear to be flashbacks to Crowe’s Maximus promising to “take revenge against an emperor” — plus plenty of new fun, including a rhino in the colosseum. “Gladiator 2″ opens in theaters Nov. 22.

Two ‘General Hospital’ actors die

Soap opera fans are mourning the death of two “General Hospital” actors. Doug Sheehan, who played Joe Kelly on more than 200 episodes from 1979 to 1982, died at his home in Wyoming, according to an announcement by his wife, Cate Abert. The Daytime Emmy Award-nominated actor was 75. And ET reports Joan Benedict Steiger has died at age 96 after suffer complications due a stroke. Steiger had a recurring role on “General Hospital” as Edith Fairchild, plus credits in “Candid Camera,” “The Steve Allen Show,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Fantasy Island,” and “Days of Our Lives.”
