(Shhh) Royal Pig Pub reopening with new menu in Fort Lauderdale

UPDATED:

The popular Royal Pig Pub & Kitchen on downtown Fort Lauderdale’s bustling Las Olas Boulevard will reopen quietly on Wednesday, Sept. 30, after more than six months shuttered by COVID restrictions.

Best known for its elegant cathedral-like ceiling, elevated pub fare, cocktails and brunch on a patio surrounded by residential and commercial towers, the restaurant will return with limited hours, reservation-only seating and a new menu.

News of the long-awaited reopening was not trumpeted with an advance publicity campaign and a series of shout-outs to Facebook friends, but on the down-low with a spare panel posted Wednesday on Instagram, just hours before doors were scheduled to open. It followed a soft-opening event at the restaurant Tuesday night.

“We are so excited to be open once again and with a brand new menu!” the Instagram post said.

Management at the restaurant declined to respond to requests seeking details.

Many South Florida restaurant owners and staff have been uncharacteristically reluctant to get specific on reopening plans, and given the confusion over local COVID rules and capacity concerns, it’s hard to blame them.

The Royal Pig Pub will be open 5-10 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, with indoor and outdoor seating. Reservations can be booked at reservations@royalpigpub.com and in the bio on the Royal Pig Pub Instagram.
