The annual Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance, a three-day car show and charity gala founded and directed by the late Rick Case and his wife, Rita, will not take place in 2021 because of COVID-19 concerns and has been rescheduled to Feb. 25-27, 2022.

“We look forward to our continued support of a spectacular three-day Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance weekend in 2022,” said Rita Case, CEO of The Rick Case Automotive Group, in a statement.

Rick Case, the founder and CEO of The Rick Case Automotive Group, died Sept. 21 after a short battle with cancer. He was 77.

The 15th annual event had been scheduled to begin with a hangar party Feb. 19, 2021, at Atlantic Aviation at the Boca Raton Airport before moving Feb. 20-21 to the Boca Raton Resort & Club. Marquee entertainers at the star-studded Saturday night gala fund raiser have included Jay Leno, Bob Newhart, Tim Allen and Dana Carvey over the years. Leno also has been a frequent judge at the Sunday Concours car competition, which features vintage cars and motorcycles on the grounds of the resort.

The event has raised more than $11 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County over the years, organizers said. Thousands have attended the events throughout Boca Raton, a festive gathering of car enthusiasts and onlookers.

“We look forward to resuming the auto enthusiast Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance weekend in 2022,” said Co-CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, Matt Organ.

The rescheduled Feb. 25-27, 2022, event will feature, “the Marque of the Year, Pre-War Chrysler & Imperial, Coach Built and several Features of the Year: Chrysler & Imperial post-war 1946, 1957, 1958-1975; 100th Anniversary of the Springfield Rolls-Royce and 1961; Morgan three-wheelers and Jaguar ‘E’ Type 60th Anniversary,” organizers said, among other attractions.

“No matter what kind of cars you’re into, they have them there,” Leno said before last year’s Concours. “That’s the fun part about it. Whether it’s cars in the ’50s, or muscle cars or European sports cars, there’s a little something for everybody.

“And Rick Case does a first-class job. He really spares no expense to make it sort of the East Coast version of the Pebble Beach Concours.”
