With options ranging from fast drafts to slow drafts and prize pools up to $15 million, Drafters has a little something for everyone. Unlike traditional season-long fantasy, Best Ball is solely about the players you draft. After every matchup, Drafters automatically inserts the highest-scoring players into your starting lineup, so you don’t need to manage rosters in season — no waivers or add/drops required. The team with the most points at the end of the season wins.

In this guide, we’ll explain the rules, scoring, and strategies to help you dominate the premier NFL season-long game this summer.

Drafters Best Ball Strategy Guide

Scoring

Drafters uses a PPR format with no additional bonuses.

Rosters

Drafters Best Ball includes 20 roster positions. The starting lineups made up of one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, one tight end and one flex (RB/WR/TE), leaving 12 bench positions to complete the rosters.

Positional Allocation

  • 2-3 Quarterbacks
  • 4-7 Running Backs
  • 6-10 Wide Receivers
  • 2-3 Tight Ends

Generally, it’s wise to draft fewer players at a position if you select one early and more players if you select the position late. For instance, if you pick Justin Jefferson in the first round, you should prioritize ending up with six wide receivers. Conversely, if your first running back is chosen after Round 5, drafting six or seven running backs is advisable.

You should be flexible with your strategy, as every draft will differ and rigid rules may not always apply.

Lastly, remember bye weeks for positions like quarterback and tight end. If you plan to draft only two quarterbacks, ensure they do not share the same bye week.

Since Drafters uses a PPR structure, pass catchers contribute a higher percentage of overall scoring in lineups. This boosts the value of players who operate near the line of scrimmage, like Michael Pittman Jr. It also benefits pass-catching backs while reducing the value of early-down grinders like David Montgomery. Although quarterbacks contribute a lower percentage of overall roster points, dual-threat quarterbacks offer additional upside compared to traditional pocket passers.
