ST. LOUIS COUNTY — A Wednesday night shooting in north St. Louis County has left a 10-year-old victim facing a “life-threatening” gunshot injury, police say.
At 10:24 p.m., officers from the St. Louis County Police Department’s North County Precinct responded to the 11100 block of Pritchard Drive, near Black Jack, where they found the child suffering from a gunshot wound. The child was taken to a local hospital.
The child's father, Christopher Turner, 47, was taken into custody after telling police he'd been working with a firearm when it accidentally went off, with the child being struck by the bullet. Turner was charged with endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree. He's being held on a $200,000 cash-only bond.
