ST. LOUIS — A St. Peters man pleaded guilty, Friday, to selling a dose of fentanyl that killed a woman in 2019.
According to the U.S. Attorney's office, Zachary Hovis, 24, pleaded guilty to two counts of distribution of fentanyl.
Hovis is accused of supplying the drug in the parking lot of a Weldon Spring country club in 2019. The victim drove to a nearby parking lot where she was found unconscious just over an hour later. The woman later died.
That same day, prosecutors said Hovis supplied fentanyl to another woman who believed it was oxycodone. She later went to the hospital, was treated and released.
Hovis is scheduled for sentencing in October.
