Former President Donald Trump came out swinging Monday for Dr. Bob Onder, a candidate in the GOP primary for Missouri’s 3rd Congressional District.
In a social media post and press release, Trump gave Onder his “complete and total” endorsement, describing the former Missouri state senator as “an incredible America First Patriot (and) an incredible voice for MAGA.”

Trump also said that Onder’s main opponent, former state Sen. Kurt Schaefer is “weak on MAGA.”
“That’s all you have to know,” Trump’s post trumpeted.
Onder and Schaefer are vying in the Aug. 6 primary to become the Republican who replaces retiring U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer of St. Elizabeth. Luetkemeyer has endorsed Schaefer in the race.
Also running in the primary are state Rep. Justin Hicks of Lake Saint Louis; Chadwick Bicknell, Kyle Bone and Arnie Dienoff.

The 3rd District seat, which spans from St. Charles County to the Lake of the Ozarks, is heavily Republican and the winner of the primary is favored also to win the Nov. 5 general election.
Former state senator Bob Onder, during public comments at a July school board meeting, reviewed the Sunshine Law and told the board that closing a meeting to discuss controversial topics would be improper. In September, the attorney general sued the school district over claims the board improperly closed meetings to discuss bathroom and locker room access for transgender students.
