Airbnb in Budapest
Since 2014, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of accommodations available on Airbnb in Budapest. In 2020, there were almost 10 thousand available apartments on the platform, most of them being in District VII. Despite this, in the summer of 2020 new regulations were introduced in Hungary. These rules allowed local governments to limit the number of days apartments can be leased for, which will inevitably have a negative effect on Airbnb rentals.
