In the first half of 2022, senior executives from 240 corporate and 90 private equity firms based in Europe, the Americas, and APAC regions were asked what they believe the greatest sell-side drivers of M&A activity will be in Europe over the next 12 months. Distress-driven M&A and non-core asset sales from larger companies were given as the main underlying motivators for M&A sellers, by 47 and 37 percent of respondents respectively in 2022.
