Several Texas baseball players signal their intent to play for new coach Jim Schlossnagle

On Monday, several members of the Texas baseball team signaled that they will return to UFCU Disch-Falk Field next season.

Outfielder Max Belyeu, infielder Casey Borba, pitcher Max Grubbs, designated hitter Kimble Schuessler and catcher Rylan Galvan all posted pictures on social media of them in Texas uniforms with multiple emojis of the Hook 'em hand sign in the captions. Pitcher Ace Whitehead simply tweeted out a GIF of Bevo charging Georgia's mascot at the 2019 Sugar Bowl. Outfielder Will Gasparino shared a post by Texas that read that "Texas lives for Omaha dogpiles."

These seven players will return to play for a new coach in 2025. Last week, Texas hired Jim Schlossnagle to replace David Pierce. At his introductory press conference, Schlossnagle said he planned on meeting with the players on the UT roster to "let them know that we want them here and we can build a great program around them."

Belyeu, Galvan, Gasparino and Schuessler were all regular starters during the 2024 baseball season. Belyeu and Schuessler both hit over .340 and that quartet combined for 48 home runs. A sophomore, Belyeu was named the Big 12 Player of the Year.

Grubbs and Whitehead ended the season as the Friday and Saturday starters in the Texas rotation. Grubbs went 6-4 with a 3.67 ERA. Whitehead was 4-2 with a 4.16 ERA.

NCAA rules allow athletes a 30-day window to enter the transfer portal after a coaching change. After eight seasons as UT's head coach, Pierce parted ways with Texas on June 24.
