After a hard-fought battle with Colon cancer, Chuck Purbaugh passed away on June 29, 2024 in Katy, Texas.

Chuck was born in New Eagle, a Borough of Monogahela, PA and grew up in Duluth, Minnesota. Chuck went to high school in Fairbault, MN at Shattuck School and lettered in football, basketball, baseball and graduated Cum Laude. He then graduated Penn State University with a BS in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering. He completed his military obligation with the Minnesota National Guard and the US Army Reserve. He was honorably discharged as SP-4.

He then went to work for Southeastern Drilling, Sedco and Sedco Forex Schlumberger. After 33 years, he retired from Sedco Forex as Vice President. During his working career he had the pleasure of living in 12 foreign countries and visiting 95 others. He retired with his wife Tommie to Lakeway Texas after two years in Singapore and six years in London. While in Lakeway, he served for 11 years as member Chair of the City building commission and was voted Lakeway's 2012 Meritus Service Award.

Chuck wife's Tommie passed away in 2017. He is survived by his two daughters, Kristen (Jeff) Galovic and Alison (Rand) Adamoli with his first wife Margaret Munson and five grandchildren, Madison, Mason, Sarah, Lilly and Charlie. He will be cremated, and his ashes scattered in Lake Travis in view of his old home. He spent his last pleasurable years at Lake Travis Independent Living facility in Lakeway.
