Arsenal in Leicester talks over Reiss Nelson deal

Leicester are looking to win the race for Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson, it is claimed.

The 24-year-old winger has gone on the Gunners’ pre-season tour of the USA, but is expected to leave the club this summer in search of more regular first-team football.

West Ham have been strongly linked with a move for Nelson over recent weeks, though Fabrizio Romano reports this afternoon that newly-promoted Leicester have now opened talks with Arsenal over an initial loan deal for the player that includes an obligation to buy.

The Foxes are apparently hopeful that Nelson’s previous experience under new manager Steve Cooper at youth level with England can help them win the race for his signature.

Man United eye Morten Hjulmand as Manuel Ugarte alternative

Manchester United may have found themselves a viable alternative to Manuel Ugarte.

The PSG midfielder has been a key target so far this summer for the Red Devils, who are also in pursuit of the likes of Matthijs de Ligt and Jarrad Branthwaite after the signings of Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee.

However, so far a deal has not been forthcoming and it seems that United may now have an alternative option to the Uruguayan.

According to FootballTransfers, Sporting CP’s Danish international midfielder Morten Hjulmand - who scored a stunning goal against England at Euro 2024 - is now under consideration at Old Trafford amid a reluctance to meet Ugarte’s asking price.
