Turkey took the lead in the 35th minute after the Dutch failed to clear a corner, leaving Arda Guler to cross perfectly to the back post with his right foot for defender Samet Akaydin to head home.
Guler went close to adding a second early in the second half when he hit the post with a free-kick, and it was to prove a costly miss when Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij equalised with a powerful header in the 70th minute.
That goal gave the Netherlands the lift they needed, Muldur turning the ball into his own net under pressure from Cody Gakpo and the Dutch hung on despite a number of late opportunities for Turkey.

Turkey run out of thrills as Dutch snatch semi-final spot vs England
A second-half comeback booked the Netherlands’ place in the Euro 2024 semi-finals as Turkey ran out of steam in Berlin.
Vincenzo Montella’s thrilling side looked set to be facing England in the final four on Wednesday when Samet Akaydin headed home, but the Dutch hit back with a Stefan de Vrij header before Cody Gakpo forced Mert Muldur into an own goal to seal their first trip to the European Championship semis in 20 years.

A truly excellent performance from Turkey on the pitch in all but one of their games, they leave with their heads held high and surely capable of making the next World Cup.
Arda Guler is a player we will be hearing a lot about in the coming years but he isn’t the only talented youngster amongst their ranks.
