England XI vs Netherlands: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injuries for Euro 2024 today

Three Lions team named for semi-final against the Dutch

Luke Shaw has missed out on a place in the England starting line-up to face the Netherlands at Euro 2024 tonight.

The Three Lions are playing in their third semi-final in the last four tournaments and are one win away from becoming the first England men’s team ever to reach a major final overseas.

Shaw made his long-awaited return from a hamstring problem as a substitute during the dramatic quarter-final victory over Switzerland, coming through almost 45 minutes unscathed after that match went all the way to penalties.

The Manchester United star is the only specialist left-back in the squad but Southgate has once again decided that he is not ready to make his first start in five months against the Dutch in Dortmund.

Shaw insisted earlier in the week that he’s ready to start and yet Kieran Trippier keeps his place on the left of what is expected to be a repeat of a 3-4-2-1 formation seen against Switzerland.

England do however welcome back Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi after suspension and he takes the place of Ezri Konsa, albeit after the Aston Villa man was impressive against the Swiss.

Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden will provide attacking support to Harry Kane with Bukayo Saka on the right side of midfield. Kobbie Mainoo partners Declan Rice in the centre of the park, in front of Guehi, John Stones and Kyle Walker with Jordan Pickford in goal.

England XI: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Guehi; Saka, Mainoo, Rice, Trippier; Foden, Bellingham; Kane

Time and date: 8pm BST on Wednesday July 10, 2024

Venue: BVB Stadion, Dortmund

Referee: Felix Zwayer (Germany)

TV channel and live stream: ITV1 and ITVX
