The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation after six fires were set off in Soho.

The drama unfolded at 2am on Tuesday, June 11, when officers on routine patrol spotted a bin ablaze on Monmouth Street.

As they tackled the initial fire, they were alerted to further outbreaks nearby by panicked members of the public.

Using whatever means available from their police vehicle, they managed to extinguish all the blazes before handing over to the London Fire Brigade.

The Met has released dramatic footage of the incident on social media, showing officers battling the flames with makeshift equipment.

The video has already garnered thousands of views, with many praising the officers' bravery.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting the incident date and time.
