Several media outlets recently reported that an FIR has been lodged against One8 Commune’s Bengaluru branch for operating beyond permissible time according to government rules, a restaurant chain co-owned by the Indian cricketer.

What happened at the One8 Commune branch in Bengaluru?

According to multiple news reports, Bengaluru Police ran a special drive to find restaurants, bars and pubs that have been violating nighttime rules directed by the state government. Out of the 3-4 clubs found guilty of violating the law, Kohli owned One8 Commune. 

The on-duty officers found the club guilty of serving customers at around 1:20 AM on Saturday, July 6, which is way over the closing time at 1 AM.

The One8 Commune restaurant in Bengaluru is situated on the sixth floor of the Ratlam Complex on Kasturba Road, close to Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s home, the Chinnaswamy Stadium. 

DCP Central BK Shekhar stated to the media that they heard complaints of loud music being played from multiple areas and acted quickly on it. 

We have booked around 3-4 pubs for running late till 1:30 am last night. We received complaints of loud music being played. Pubs were allowed to remain open only till 1 am and not beyond that. A further investigation is on.
