Voter Rights & Engagement
We have the freedom to choose our leaders and engage on the issues that we care about. That means we can build power in our communities and create real change. Our right to vote gives us that power, so long as we protect it from those that wish to silence us. As the largest and most diverse generation in American history, we have the strength to defend our voices and our votes. Will you join us?

IMPACT

Democratic philanthropy is a critical element in Southern Partners Fund’s vision. We strive to incorporate the voice of our grantees, membership, and other grassroots organizations from throughout the rural South. Promoting self-determination is highly valued in the organization’s decision-making process. We involve those affected by the issues at hand in community based problem-solving.

Grantee Highlights

Arkansas United

Arkansas’ first immigrant organizing and advocacy coalition, AU operates regional Immigrant Resource Centers in Springdale, Fort Smith, and Little Rock. AU is a co-founder of Arkansas Counts, promoting US Census participation. Related to Census advocacy, AU is also the only Spanish education/outreach information source for the redistricting work currently happening in Arkansas.

Emancipate NC

Emancipate NC was founded on the knowledge that mass incarceration and structural racism harm all of us. Prison is state-sponsored violence. We are all complicit in its harms. As an organization, Emancipate NC is dedicated to shifting the narrative on racialized mass incarceration through community education and mobilization.
