NEW YORK – New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. today announced the launch of the Midtown Community Improvement Coalition, a new interagency quality of life improvement hub that brings together law enforcement, elected officials, and community and business leaders to address public safety and quality of life issues in Midtown Manhattan. Modeled off the successful 125th Street Business Improvement District (BID) Interagency Hub, the Midtown Community Improvement Coalition includes more than 20 city agencies, service providers, and other government and community partners.

Over 25 Pounds of Fentanyl and Cocaine and $100,000 Cash Seized in Bronx Apartment

A cache of more than 12 kilograms (25 pounds) of suspected fentanyl and cocaine and $100,000 were recovered after members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force executed an unrelated arrest warrant at a residence in Spuyten Duyvil in the Bronx.

Over 26 Pounds of Cocaine and $3 Million Cash Recovered in Bronx Apartment

An investigation into a major narcotics distributor resulted in the seizure of approximately 12 kilograms
(more than 26 pounds) of cocaine and over $3 million cash from an apartment in the Norwood
neighborhood of the Bronx. The narcotics and money were concealed inside several pieces of furniture
outfitted with hidden trap compartments. One individual was arrested.

Nearly 45 Pounds of Cocaine Seized from Interstate Traffickers

An investigation into interstate narcotics trafficking resulted in the seizure of approximately 20 kilograms (nearly 45 pounds) of cocaine worth more than $1 million from a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Members of the New York Drug Enforcement Task Force (NYDETF) tracked the vehicle from Connecticut through New York City to New Jersey, where it allegedly picked up the load of cocaine.

Thirty-Eight Pounds of Methamphetamine and Cocaine Recovered in Hell’s Kitchen Luxury Building

An investigation into methamphetamine and cocaine trafficking in New York City resulted in the seizure of approximately 30 pounds of methamphetamine, plus four kilograms (over eight pounds) of cocaine from an apartment at 550 West 54th Street, a luxury residential building in Hell’s Kitchen. Two men face charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First, Second and Third Degrees. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $1.1 million.
