Yankees rookie Ben Rice agreed to shave his head if they win the World Series in an appearance on “Foul Territory” on Monday afternoon.
Rice became the first rookie in franchise history to hit three home runs in a single game in Saturday’s win against the Red Sox. As a result, Yankees podcaster Derek Levandowski followed up on a promise he made via X to shave his head live on his postgame show if Rice hit a third homer.
“Sure!” the first baseman said when asked if he’d shave his own head like Levandowski did if the Yankees win it all.

The rookie laughed as he watched a clip of the podcaster shaving his head, calling him a “man of his word.”
“I can’t say it’s what I expected, but I’m not surprised. I love it,” Rice said. This is the kind of stuff I like to see — especially a guy who is walking the talk like that after putting out a tweet like that — so I love it. I respect it.”
Rice is the third rookie in the Modern Era to hit three home runs from the leadoff spot, joining Mike Yastrzemski and Andrew McCutchen, per Sarah Langs. His seven RBI matched a performance from Lou Gehrig in 1925 for the most in a game by a rookie in Yankees history.
