Paid for contentProduction company returns for second slot of filming latest Shetland crime drama

ITV Shetland/Silverprint Pictures are now back in Shetland to film the second block of footage for the new series of Shetland – Series 9.

Filming is set to take place at various locations between now and 28 June. Any impact this will have on traffic or pedestrians/individuals will be advised in advance.

Road closures and stop/go traffic control procedures related to filming have already been granted by the SIC Roads Department and, where applicable, warning signs re these are already in place.

These are as follows:

  • Wednesday 12 June – St Ninians Isle Beach road, beach and Haar sauna. Closed to traffic, pedestrians and beach users. 7am – 8pm.
  • Thursday 13 June – Dales Voe road and base. Full closure of Dales Voe Base approach road. 10am – 12am.
  • Friday 14 June – Commercial Street – from Market Cross to Pitt Lane. 9am – 3pm. Road will be closed to vehicular traffic only. Pedestrian, foot traffic and shoppers will be unaffected, bar for occasional ‘stop/go’ holds during actual filming.
  • 17 – 19 June – 7am to 8pm each day. Closure of the upper section of Vanlop Road leading up to BT towers at top of hill. Please note that local and animal welfare access will be maintained at all times.
  • 24 June. 6pm – 9pm. Section of King Harald Street between King Erik Street and Union Street. Road will remain open but intermittent ‘stop/go’ traffic control procedures will be in place during these times while filming takes place.
  • 25/26 June – 7am – 8pm – Section of the B9074 road in the area of the Tingwall Kirk. The road will remain open to traffic and other road users but will be subject to short, intermittent, ‘stop/go’ traffic control procedures while filming takes place.
St Ninian’s Beach closure on Wednesday 12 June.
