Council / Changes to waste collection schedule after essy kert breakdowns
SHETLAND Islands Council says that due to vehicle breakdowns today (Monday) with its smaller essy kerts, there will be some changes this week to waste and recycling collections in the North Mainland, West Mainland and Lerwick.
Collections of black bag household waste from side roads in the North Mainland will instead be made on Thursday (16 May) this week.
Recycling collections of plastics and cans in Lerwick will also be made on Thursday this week.
Tomorrow’s planned collection of black bag waste on side roads in the West Mainland will instead take place on Friday (17 May) this week.
The council said it would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
