Entertainment / Gig-goers asked to collect wristbands before Tall Ships concerts
TICKET holders for the sold-out Tall Ships gigs later this month are being advised to collect their entrance wristbands in advance.
There will be three ticketed events at Holmsgarth, with Tide Lines headlining on 27 July, Peat and Diesel on 28 July and Queen II on 29 July.
The opening concert with Peatbog Faeries on Wednesday 26 July will be free to attend, and so it is not ticketed.
Shetland Arts said there was “unprecedented demand” for the thousands of tickets when they went on sale in May.
Organisers have announced that wristbands can be collected at Mareel from 10pm to 4pm on 15-16 July and 22-23 July.
Thereafter they will be available from the information point at Victoria Pier during the Tall Ships event, which runs from 26-29 July.
Project manager Emma Miller said: “All large bags will be subject to search and people should avoid bringing anything they don’t need with them to the event sites.
“This will help us to keep queuing times to an absolute minimum and ensure the event is the safe and enjoyable spectacle everyone wants it to be.”
Additionally, alcohol must not be taken into the event site.
Extra ferries and late buses have also been organised for the events.
Miller said: “The website is going to be updated on a regular basis in the coming days, so we would urge anyone planning to attend to keep an eye out for practical details about accessing the event sites and what will be happening across the four days.”
