Community / Uninhabited island under offer after years on the market
AN UNINHABITED island off the west mainland which was put on the market around six years ago is now under offer.
The 63.75 acre island of Linga has an asking price of offers over £250,000.
It comes after a private plane was tracked circling around the island in late November, with reports on social media suggesting it may have flown from the south of France.
The island has planning consent for a pier, new agricultural buildings, a loch and new cottage.
The planning permission also includes the rebuilding of two derelict cottages, a windmill and solar panels.
Linga has been uninhabited since 1934.
Its listing had attracted considerable interest from media and publications from across the country.
