Ivanka Trump’s Subtle PR Move Might Be an Asset to Donald Trump’s Campaign

Ivanka Trump has made it very clear that she will not be involved in politics for Donald Trump‘s third run for president, but she might be making subtle PR moves that still benefit his campaign. Voters should look no further than her one-hour-long interview with Lex Fridman last week, her insight provided plenty of headlines for her father.

Ivanka has figured out a way to stay out of the campaign while generating good PR for Donald Trump. “I spent four years in Washington. I feel like I left it all on the field,” she told Fridman of her time with her father in Washington, D.C. “I feel really good about it, and I feel really privileged to have been able to do what I did.” The eldest daughter of the former president won’t be campaigning, but she will likely do plenty of interviews talking about her dad — it’s under-the-radar campaigning.

She will also show up in a personal capacity to the Republican National Convention on July 18 to watch Donald Trump accept his GOP nomination. Her spokesperson noted to the New York Post that Ivanka “will not serve in any political capacity at the event, as a delegate, fundraiser or otherwise” while she is there, though. It might be just enough to have Ivanka, her husband Jared Kushner, and their three children, Arabella, 12, Joseph, 9, and Theodore, 7, in the building to make for a picture-perfect Trump family moment.

The Daily Mail described her stealth role as Donald Trump’s “fiercest public defender” as one where she might use her social media influence to soften her dad’s image. A throwback moment from her childhood with a simple “I love you dad” was her way of throwing Donald Trump support after his 34-count conviction in late May. She strategically didn’t address the legal issue, but instead, tried to humanize her father with a sweet father-daughter snapshot.

Ivanka is masterful in the publicity arena, so voters should keep their eyes out for how she transfers her skills from White House senior adviser to social media influencer. Her work may feel soft, but it actually carries a power punch with many of Donald Trump’s supporters. So, Ivanka isn’t wearing a political badge through the rest of the 2024 campaign, but she is finding a way to make her mark.
