The West Coast Eagles and Adam Simpson have parted ways after 11 years.
The club has confirmed that the 48-year-old's tenure will come to an end.
Simpson whad been contracted until the end of 2025.
The Eagles released the following statement:
The West Coast Eagles and senior coach Adam Simpson have mutually agreed that his 11-year tenure at the club will come to an end.
Simpson, one of only six senior coaches in the 37-year history of the club and one of only three to lead the club to premiership glory, achieved the ultimate success in 2018 to join Michael Malthouse (1992, 1994) and John Worsfold (2006) in bringing the cup to WA.
Simpson won the 2018 premiership with the Eagles and led the club to finals in five other seasons, but things have been difficult over the last few years.
The Eagles have won just eight games since the beginning of the 2022 season and the decision has been made to end Simpson’s time in charge.
He took over at the club ahead of the 2014 season before guiding the Eagles to the Grand Final in 2015.
Simpson would then coach West Coast to the premiership in 2018 when beating Collingwood at the MCG by five points.
He coached the club in 12 finals for seven wins with the last September triumph coming in the 2019 Elimination Final.
The two-time North Melbourne premiership player has coached the Eagles in 242 games for 122 wins, one draw and 119 losses.
Simpson will depart the Eagles as one of only three AFL premiership coaches.
There is a press conference scheduled for 2:30pm AEST (12:30pm AWST) at Mineral Resources Park.
