SOS School of Sustainability

Our Master’s Program in Sustainable Architecture and Design

Our First Level Professional Master’s Degree seeks to reinvent the professional figures of architects and designers. Founded in 2015, the SOS Master’s Program in Sustainable Architecture and Design strives to bring together the knowledge, competencies, and skills that Mario Cucinella Architects (MCA) has acquired over more than thirty years of professional experience at an international level in the fields of education, industry, and research. The program is accessible to recent graduates and young working professionals through an innovative blended format, made possible by the partnership with Uninettuno International University. Following the Uninettuno e-learning model, the program’s structure combines online instruction (video lessons, sharing of didactic material, live virtual classrooms, tutorials, and discussion forums), with hands-on project work at the SOS campus in Milan (within the MCA Mario Cucinella Architects Firm). The Master’s Program gives our students the flexibility to manage the workload with the comfort of remote learning while still getting the crucial practical experience and opportunity to work directly with SOS faculty members and trusted institutional partners on large-scale and innovative student projects when on campus

The School Facility

The 1000 sqm structure is home to both SOS and the Milan branch of MCA Mario Cucinella Architects, allowing for collaborations on research and development of sustainable design between school and firm. The headquarters lie in the Risorgimento neighborhood, on the East side of Milan, the historical and contemporary heart and soul of the city, a symbol of Made in Italy design.

An ample façade conceals four levels interconnected through wide galleries on each floor and with a central opening spanning from the bottom floor all the way up to the dominant skylight, at the center of the rooftop terrace.
