Jacob K. Cosby OBITUARY

Jacob K. Cosby passed away from a heart attack on June 12, 2024 at the age of 91 after a period of declining health. Jake was born on August 18, 1932 to George Marcus Cosby and Lucy Murphy Cosby in Junction City, Kentucky. He entered the service at the age of 17 and served in the Korean War. Jake loved the military and served 20 years both in the Army and Air Force retiring in 1971. During his tenure at Norton Air Force Base, which developed all pictures from space, he was a photographer in the Audio Visual Department of the crew that developed the pictures of Neil Armstrong – the Man on the Moon. Jake met his future wife Norma Morlock on a blind date. They were married in 1957 and lasted for 66 years. They had three children: Robbin Watson of Gold Hill, Oregon, Valerie Klmiczak of Riverside, California, and Mark Cosby of Anderson, South Carolina, seven grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren. Jake also leaves his sister Lucille Scott of Nashville, TN and Sandi di Laski of Riverview, FL. Jake loved animals and he and his dog Mikey, were devoted to each other. Jake was also a proud member of the San Bernardino Elks #836 and enjoyed its activities and friends. Services will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery on July 1, 2024 at 11:30am with full military honors.
