A 100-acre brush fire was threatening homes in the Riverside County community of Homeland on Friday, July 5, the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said.
The fire was burning in the area of Juniper Flats and Mapes roads, Cal Fire spokesman Alex Izaguirre said about 3:30 p.m.
About 30 homes were being evacuated, he said.
