A brush fire that broke out in Moreno Valley has grown to 20 acres, officials from the Riverside County Fire Department reported Thursday on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The fire was first reported on Nason St. and Dracaea Ave. in Moreno Valley at about 7:03 p.m. on Thursday, July 4.

Cal Fire officials said the burn is in a difficult-access area near Pettit Hill, and has grown from around 7-10 acres to around 20 acres after 9 p.m.

A cause was not immediately known, county officials said later.

Additional firefighters have been sent to the scene. No evacuations or injuries were reported.
