Three Inland baseball teams have accepted invitations to compete in this year’s CIF State Southern California regional playoffs.

Chino Hills received the No. 1 seed for the Division IV regional playoffs after winning the CIF Southern Section’s Division 5 championship. The Huskies host No. 8-seeded North Hollywood in a first-round game Tuesday afternoon. North Hollywood won the LA City Section’s Division 1 championship. Chino Hills will have home-field advantage throughout the regional playoffs as long as it wins.

Colony is the No. 4 seed for the Division IV regional and hosts No. 5-seeded University City in a first-round game Tuesday. Colony captured the Southern Section’s Division 6 championship. University City won the San Diego Section’s Division 4 championship.

If both teams win their opening-round games, Chino Hills and Colony would square off in the regional semifinals Thursday.

Ayala is the No. 7 seed for the Division II regional and will head to No. 2-seeded San Marcos for a first-round game Tuesday. Ayala advanced to the Southern Section Division 2 semifinals. San Marcos claimed the San Diego Section’s Division 1 championship.

Corona won the Southern Section’s Division 1 championship, but the Panthers were among the teams that opted out of the regional playoffs.

Tuesday’s regional openers are scheduled for 4 p.m. The regional semifinals are Thursday (May 30), and the regional finals are Saturday (June 1).
